Lin Jinzao in Working Meeting with Canadian Counterpart Bardish Chagger
On December 4, CNTA Chairman Li Jinzao held a working meeting in Beijing with Canadian Tourism Minister Bardish Chagger, who was accompanying Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to China. The meeting was constructive for the 2018 Tourism Year program and bilateral tourism exchange and cooperation.
Li said: "China and Canada have a long history of exchange and cooperation, and seen smooth progress in political, economic, trade and cultural cooperation in recent years. Hosting the Tourism Year in 2018 is a big decision jointly made by state leaders of both countries. Within the Tourism Year framework, we are ready to closely communicate and work with you to launch colorful tourism exchange activities and promote more mutual visits between Chinese and Canadian people." He also welcomed Canadian tourism associations and enterprises to join the World Tourism Alliance initiated by China in September.
According to Bardish Chagger, Canada and China enjoy close exchange and cooperation, there are more than one million Chinese living in Canada, and Chinese is the third largest language in Canada. So the bilateral tourism cooperation has great potential, the 2018 China-Canada Tourism Year will further closer tourism cooperation between the two countries and increase the number of two-way visits. Then she congratulated China on the establishment of the World Tourism Alliance and promised to recommend it to Canadian tourism associations and enterprises.
Also present at the meeting were representatives of the Canadian Ministry of Small Business and Tourism, Canadian Embassy and CNTA departments concerned.
